Hell, in most major countries w/ a functioning gov't, I think, the national capital is *by law* the equivalent of a state, prefecture, whatever. For example, Tokyo has been an official prefecture since... at least the 2000s? if not 1990s. Beijing is probably similar. and so on

I’m with ya. It seems like common sense to me, unless there’s a good answer as to why citizens living in D.C. should have less representation than the rest of us? I mean, they literally reside within seat of our political sector.
