Jeff Bezos could single-handedly make life fundamentally better (allow unions, fairer employee pay structure) for almost a million people without sacrificing anything in his own life. What a gift he could give to himself & to the world.(I wonder what #AmazonPR will say to that)

Jeff Bezos could also single-handedly end world hunger and make life better for 800million starving people without sacrificing anything in his own life. Will he do it? Or will he spend every dollar he has solidifying his power in our corrupt system?

Two of the richest people in the world, billionaires Bill Gates & Warren Buffet, have pledged to give 99% of their billions to charity. Jeff Zuckerburg also said he will give most of his fortune to charity. I think that Jeff Bezos will also eventually give most of his money away

Exactly why I refuse to use Amazon, he's a greedy prick like the Wal-Mart clan. 👎

yah but he has to stroke his own ego and apparently the power to be mean to others proves to himself he is superior; I just don't get why it isn't more rewarding to be generous; I feel better when I am generous, why wouldn't Bezos? I guess it's part of justifying his wealth.

Ultimate power...ultimately corrupts those that have it. They only seek to retain or increase the power once they achieve it. I hope that in this instance the above maxim is proven wrong... but, I sincerely doubt it. The rich and powerful usually lack the compassion necessary.

I call it greed ... I'm sure Amazon would simply call it good business ... the question is ... good for who?

No employer or CEO should make more than 10 times the lowest paid employee in their business.
