People who are forced to work at jobs they hate, desperate to keep that job even though it robs them of life-force more than it pays them in money, who nevertheless need it because it is the only way to survive, are in a very real way not free.

So around 95% of humanity, then?

Exactly. We NEED more unemployment and government dependence. Only then will we be truly free.

Many of us are trapped because employers are the only access to health insurance. We leave, we could die. So, we are abused, exploited, pressured. We cannot complain or protest. In Texas, it’s even illegal for teachers to organize.

Absolutely. It's called wage slavery and it's antithetical to both America's founding promise to citizens and to capitalism. Everything works better when it's eliminated and that is done with #UBI.
The foundational promise of #America was the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Without a right to food/shelter/healthcare... we do not have a right to life. If we are forced into jobs to access these, how are we free? It's time to live up to our ideals.

How many jobs require a written agreement to perform "other duties as assigned"? Is this not slavery by definition?
