I notice when I post about a problem it gets attention. But when I post about candidates who would fix the problem, not so much. And that's a problem. Electoral politics isn't everything but it can't be left out of the equation if we really want to solve the problems of the world

I think many people are just understandably jaded and cynical towards this system, and are tired of empty promises from politicians. Even if the politicians are very well-meaning, people are just used to having their high expectations being crushed by a corrupt, oppressive system

I get that, but it's our democracy we're talking about here. We have ancestors who have literally died for our right to at least stay in the struggle. The system is rigged, it's f--ked up, but it's not unchangeable. Giving up amounts to conspiring with it.

People who give a shit need to start REFUSING to support or vote for Dems or our inert Elected Progressives, who toe the line for Pelosi & the Establishment, and refuse to call out the malefactors in their own party and caucus, unless they begin USING THEIR REAL POWER to help us.

It's the times. The duopoly has made politicians risk-averse. They would rather talk in hyperbole and make hollow promises than deliver - and act upon - a realistic plan. (You and Bernie being notable exceptions.)

This is why we need to fight more for revising our electoral system to support more parties. We need to break the log jams that keep the incumbents in who work more for their large donors and their careers then the People. My top priority is #RankedChoiceVoting for this reason.

Could it be that some people are turning away from commenting on ideas on posts that are likely not to change anything & just taking direct actions to seek change and improvement? Just because people don't tweet back doesn't mean they're not engaged in the process of change.

Keep making the same choice and keep getting the same result. If you want something different, you have to choose different. The system is rigged intentionally & the illusion is if we just fight harder we can change it. Powers that be want the fight cuz it keeps us distracted

Completely agree, I just think many people are looking for alternative paths to effect real change. Can only speak for myself, but I've become increasingly hesitant towards supporting anyone within the 2-party system. I don't think it's wise to legitimize either party anymore.

The problem is most people just do not pay attention to politics. Trump flipped things on its head but with Biden taking the office a lot of people put their blinders back on. And then the people who do still care are largely in debt and have to work 80 hour weeks to stay afloat.

I think most of us don't believe it can be fixed.
The ole 'definition of insanity is repeating an action over and over expecting a different result' could easily apply to participating in a rigged system & shaming folk who refuse to as actually conspiring with it just another mechanism in the system/delusion to protect its self

This is a good point it is important to stay in the fight! 🥊 Is there anything that might make citizens have a more optimistic view on the future of American politics? 🤔
