I notice when I post about a problem it gets attention. But when I post about candidates who would fix the problem, not so much. And that's a problem. Electoral politics isn't everything but it can't be left out of the equation if we really want to solve the problems of the world

Okay. You're cynical. And how is that helping? Believe me, I understand the frustration. I was in the belly of that beast. But as my dad would say, "Don't let the bastards get you down." We need to grieve, cry, rage...and then at a certain get back up again!

Right. Like they're smarter than anyone running. That's a very arrogant perception - and a sure way to make sure the people we least agree with hold all the power.

I like when you post about problem solvers. It's a nice change of pace. Maybe upload their proposals and blueprint images. I think part of it is also that people feel discouraged. There's hardly a third party or a second party. We live in a mess that is called politics.

I think many people are just understandably jaded and cynical towards this system, and are tired of empty promises from politicians. Even if the politicians are very well-meaning, people are just used to having their high expectations being crushed by a corrupt, oppressive system

I get that, but it's our democracy we're talking about here. We have ancestors who have literally died for our right to at least stay in the struggle. The system is rigged, it's f--ked up, but it's not unchangeable. Giving up amounts to conspiring with it.

There is a trend of loss of faith. Admittedly in part because many of the elected Left have become co-opted to one extent or another by the Establishment. It's hard to believe that individuals can withstand the pressure once they enter the belly of the beast.
