Either we think people are inherently evil & we need to protect ourselves & loved ones from evil in society; or we think people are inherently good and we need to foster that good in every way possible to create a good society. That’s the philosophical struggle underneath it all.

Thinking people are inherently good doesn’t mean you fail to recognize evil. You do recognize it & you see the need not only to protect yourself but also to push back against it. But your energy and resources go more towards fostering good so that new forms of evil do not emerge.

I think most people are inherently good ... I also think some have been broken beyond repair ... The issue is ... knowing which is which! ... But ...They are all ... The Children of God!

Running my own business dealing with the general public, I learned two things: 1. Most people are genuinely good, honest and really nice. 2. The high levels of ignorance in most people is incredible. I do not mean they are stupid, but are very unaware of the world and technology

Isn't it like gardening? Plant thy crop in the middle yet guard it from damage planting thorns around it? We can feed the good in each other and starve evil. This was the point of all faith systems up to the point of their corruption/co-option

We can’t become a “good society” while we are told that is morally good to send our imperialist and brutal military around the world to mass murder millions of innocent people just to sustain the empire, our way of life and the oligarchs who own it.

Unfortunately, the US is a pressure cooker designed to break people. It's like a factory whose products are sociopathy, rage & depression
