Despite all that’s happened & is happening, I agree with Biden you should never bet against America. A nation that has done some horrible things has also shown a historical tendency, after some horrifying detours, to ultimately do the right thing. In my heart I feel we will again

W are not a nation. there is no glue uniting us. Those that FEEL part of a nation do it for the worst reasons. the rest does not feel included.

Nope - we are swirling down the shit-hole. Greed has utterly corrupted this place and it's institutions.

In the short term i feel like betting my life savings and borrowing to bet against america is much less risky than buying bonds. I need to see more than just the majority of the country realizing we live in a dystopia before that sentiment changes.

Agree, though it's the hardest work of all. I once told my kids that America's true destiny is to achieve balance and harmony between individual liberties and collective rights. We've regressed in the ~15y since, but not irreversibly. Narrowly avoiding catastrophe, its up to US.

God I wish I had your optimism. I have friends and relatives living abroad and they're telling me it's as bleak as it can get. People don't want to live anymore, they just want release from all the suffering.

Joe Biden reduced the social distance by 50% (6 to 3 ft) in just 2 months... imagine what 4 years will look like!
