The Second Amendment protects the right to own a gun. It doesn’t protect the right to own whatever kind of gun you want. #BanAssaultWeapons

Does it say that you have a right to buy the gun the same day you decide you want it? (as happened in last multiple shooting) And is now the moment the senate has the votes needed to act for gun safety? Best wishes to you all from here in Canada, I hope for greater protection

I wonder what we’ll regulated militia he belonged to? The Second Amendment had been wrongly decided.

The 2nd amendment does NOT protect the right 'own' a gun. Here is what it actually says, verbatim, (emphasis added): "A WELL *REGULATED* **MILITIA**, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to *keep* and *bear* Arms shall not be infringed."

No such thing as an “assault weapon”until it’s been used in an assault. At that point I agree. Ban that one and put the offender in jail. Crime=punishment. The man was the problem not the weapon. He could have easily drove his car through the parking lot killing just as many.

Guns from 18th century only, with powder reload

Why don't you even slightly consider changing yr 2nd amendment as an option. It's so ridiculous not to do that on 21 century terms.

Actually, according to some historians, the second amendment was designed to protect the rights of states to form a militia to enforce slave holders’ rights to their escaped slave-properties. (I don’ t recall the names of the historians. Will look them up)
