The Second Amendment protects the right to own a gun. It doesn’t protect the right to own whatever kind of gun you want. #BanAssaultWeapons

I support the 2nd Amendment - in that it actually demands that we abolish our standing military and re-place it with a Well Regulated Militia. THAT collective Ownership is what the document so opaquely refers to.

The first amendment protects speech. It doesn't protect all speech. Just the kind I agree with.

Actually, the 2nd Amendment recognizes the right of a free state to organize, form and sanction a militia. The bearing arms part is more subjective than it's made out to be.

The 1st step in saving America is to repeal the 2nd Amendment. It is INSANE in the 21st century.

Can you please point out where the Second Amendment protects the right for crazy people to own guns? Asking for a friend.

Only insofar as police do not have access to weapons citizens can’t own, sure. But as long as the state may use violent force on its own population, that population should have access to the same resources to fight back.
