Not disagreeing but the 2nd amendment just describes “arms”. That feels fairly inclusive of all guns to me.

It’s reasonable to more strictly control the sale and ownership of semi automatic rifles chambered in center fire cartridges. Maybe do this for handguns too.

I thought it protected the rights of states to have regulated militias which kept their muzzle loaded flint lock rifles in armories. Oh, and slave patrols.

There's no good way to do this, though. "Assault" rifles are en vogue with the gun crowd, but a semi-automatic hunting rifle can do the same damage or even worse, just with a wooden stock. Many use more powerful rounds than the AR-15 platform, too.
