I'd argue the right to bare arms might be better interpreted as just the right to have a weapon. Ban deadly weapons. We have the technology for non-lethal weapons now.

Agree. If such details are not defined in law people will try to carry around a bazooka or drive around in an M1 tank. As with covid safety compliance many Americans need leadership since self-discipline and common sense is in short supply
