The Second Amendment protects the right to own a gun. It doesn’t protect the right to own whatever kind of gun you want. #BanAssaultWeapons

Let's stay true to the original intent of the Founding Fathers: Everyone can have a musket & that's it.

The 2A does not give people the right to own a gun. The NRA started that meme. The 2A is being interpreted to say something completely different than what was written. The same thing they do with the bible. Turn it around to fit their desires.

Technically, it doesn’t give anybody the right to own a gun. It never specifically says this. It says “the right to bear arms” which means a spoon can be a weapon. That and it says “a well regulated militia” which means a group not an individual.

It actually only protects the right to form a well-regulated militia.

Banning semi automatic rifles wouldn't do much to prevent mass shootings. In the context of shooting defenseless victims, a 45 caliber glock would be plenty sufficient. The idea that AR15s are super duper military grade weapons is a myth.

Maybe instead of looking at the guns and pretending they fire themselves, maybe you should look at the mental health of someone that is willing to go out and shoot up a bunch of people.

Actually... and this might blow your mind... but yes it does.

US is the only 'civilized' nation in the world that allows its citizens to own guns. US is the only 'civilized' nation in the world that consistently has mass shootings. The resolution to the problem does not involve rocket science. Instead, it's hubris, ornery, and insanity.

It says in organized militia not individually owned explicitly, and the whole point was against the British and since there is no British, the second amendment application is over. It's a propoganda by NRA.

Talk if banning "assault weapons" seems to be a red herring. Almost all homicides and suicides are committed with handguns, yet "assault weapons" get the attention. In 2014, there were just 258 homicides by rifle. More bystanders are killed by high speed police chases each year.
