I heard @maddow say 45 million people on food stamps will now get $230/mo more because of the Covid bill & “it’s a really big deal.” No, what’s a really big deal -really bad deal -is that in our country of 330 million people there are 45 million who need food stamps to begin with

I am 67 yrs old, my father was a WWII pilot shot down over Germany fighting for what was right. I grew up believing in this country, to do what’s right and just. What part of 45 million Americans on food stamps says “right and just”? “No peace without justice”

45 million are just the ones willing to go through the bureaucratic humiliating bullshit to get the food stamps. There's likely 100 million more people who need SNAP but haven't applied for the program.
