I heard @maddow say 45 million people on food stamps will now get $230/mo more because of the Covid bill & “it’s a really big deal.” No, what’s a really big deal -really bad deal -is that in our country of 330 million people there are 45 million who need food stamps to begin with

I was in a walmart today and they had all the baby formula and things of that nature, in a locked case. I've never seen that before and it says so many things about our society.

And how many are worthless fucks perfectly capable af getting a job? Just shit out more kids and live off the system for the rest of their life. 🤷🏽‍♂️
They put a bandaid on the problem and then proudly proclaim...." look at what we've done! Isn't it amazing!" It's pathetic. Poverty is a systemic social structural condition caused by the massive income inequality that the millionaire and billionaire class thrive off of. 🤮🤮🤮

I had the same feeling when I found out up to 1/3rd of school children depended on food lunches and could not get it when schools were closed. How could we be OK with this all these years ???

And it is going to get worse with the inflation coming. People are not prepared for the fall out of raising prices.

So... is it not a "really big deal" that we're doing something to fix it? Remember, if the Dems didn't win GA, there would be $0 stimulus and $0 additional child tax credit. It's fine to demand more, but it was always going to be incremental - you can't fix it 100% overnight.

Why do so many need food stamps
Marianne,, printing more money, or more food stamps WONT solve the problem. What we need is tax reform. Tax laws benefit the rich in far too many ways. The real estate investment tax breaks are a perfect example - and the very reason the cost of homes is skyrocketing.
