If the Democrats don’t get rid of the filibuster they won’t be able to accomplish things they promised, which will lead them to lose power to the Republicans. Once Republicans have the power, they will do to the Democrats all the things they’re now warning Dems not to do to them

It would be so much easier to rule without those pesky checks and balances! Why not get rid of those parts of the constitution that you find restrictive of complete, authoritarian control! Crush minority rights!!! Democrats never cared about minorities they couldn’t control

Remember the 115th (2017-19), 108th, 109th Senates (2003-2007); Republicans at all 3 levels - it could happen again & will Democrats wish they had not gotten rid of the filibuster. To think beyond the very short term - something governments have forgotten how to do
