Every public school in America should be a palace of a culture, learning and the arts. The fact that that seems to anyone like a pipe dream is a measure of how disconnected we are as a society from the values that should guide us.

Instead, your party the Democrats, are teaching "Critical Race Theory" teaching kids to hate America and divide by Race. We, the tax payers, DID NOT agree to this!!

“Teaching kids to hate their country and to hate each other is not worth one red cent of taxpayer money,” DeSantis said. @GovRonDeSantis will propose to ban the teaching of “unsanctioned narratives like critical race theory” in #Florida state schools. theepochtimes.com/desantis-d…

The drama program at my inner city public high school had zero dollars in funding. $0 I'm eternally grateful to the drama teacher for what he managed to do (two shows a year+competing in a festival) with so little, but just imagine how much more we could have done with funding.

100%. I might also add, for those that are often heard saying, "wHaT gOoD iS sTuDyInG tHaT sUbJeCt?", that school is and should be more than job training.

Public school is overwhelmingly the first place that children encounter violence. Fix that first.
School was constant living hell and I wished that I would die in my sleep every day since I started first grade until I had finally given up after getting an associates degree.

we have to completely restructure American views and values on education, currently our schools function as a mock assembly line, to prepare the gen pop for exactly that. We could be inspiring childern to create works like Hagia Sophia or Mont St Michel. But we claw at the dirt

I love it when you say this — such evocative language. Let’s operationalize it. I’m on the school board for my tiny rural underfunded town. Could be much worse & the teachers are great. I want to paint the picture for the citizens so they understand the value proposition. Help?
