The majority of our educational funding is still based on property taxes. The denial of a world-class education to every child is a passive form of oppression.

The relationship between funding and school performance is tenuous. Utah has the lowest per capita spending and has middling test scores. DC has the highest per capita spending and the lowest test scores.

A rigorous education by β€œworld class” standards would cause our fragile children to be offended into oblivion.

Interesting comment. Perhaps we need to require that states pool all property taxes and redistribute them based on enrollments and nothing else.

Take a fraction of Military spending and fund schools, pay teachers better. It's that easy.

Thursday evening's Vice News episode did a piece of an oil-dependent community that claims to funnel billions into this small town. Their school also declares a dependency on the oil money. I would love your take on it.
