Who is 'we' and what do you mean by run the country? Your statement is nonsense. Politicians can not run a government like either a business or a family. Making a decision beneficial to 300 million relatives who they don't know and who have differing & unknown values or wants.

Also, businesses are essentially dictatorships. No one ever thinks about that when they spout nonsense like "we should run this country like a business".

If we did run it like a business many in Congress would be fired. We would implement #M4A immediately bc America would save money and improve the health and vigor of its workforce.

I would say run like a representative government that has the health well being of the people number one. Running any organization like a family breeds projection of family issues. Not looking for a mommy or daddy. Sibling rivalry etc...
