You're echoing the empty, political messaging of Democrats. They give us feel good photos and speeches to tide us over to the next catastrophe. What we don't get from them is any commitment to the structural changes needed to address the *causes* of the death, misery, & grief.
If enough of us will spend two minutes a day sending love from our heart to every other living being, there will be a miraculous shift that all of us feel.

We misuse empathy by being hagiographers of politicians (the left-media is full of this right now). We use empathy well when we realize the pain of those whose needs aren't being met *right now* and ask reps to do more. Dems have the power right now. Why aren't they doing more?

Very good article - to be fair, when I subtweet it's generally reacting to an overall dilemma, and not an entire individuals work. You've been doing great in holding their feet to the fire, and it's more my frustration after 40 years of seeing people give Democrats carte blanche.
