The relief bill will keep millions of people from drowning. But it doesn’t even begin to restructure our economy so that the well-being of people is placed before the well-being of corporations. American lives are constantly sacrificed at the altar of greed and it needs to stop.

That's how the corporate Democrats work. Occasionally they throw crumbs but overall they don't fix the systemic problem. Is another reason why they lose to people like Trump.

1400 is maybe a month relief for most ppl. It's nice to have but doesn't change much. 2k a month would change lives.

It doesn't even come close to a month's worth of expenses. I've been making 1/2 - 2/3 my regular income for a year now, but my expenses haven't changed. $1400 is a band aid over a gun shot wound, not even close to a lifeline.

The people don’t realize or are maybe even afraid of the power they’d have if they had one complete voice for all. All for one and one for all.

Maybe if we keep voting for the same blue wing of the duopoly over and over again and hope for a different result.

100%. The $1400 check will help me a lot as someone who is disabled and in poverty. $2000 would have helped me even more. $2000/month would have seen me get off of my mother's couch and into an actual apartment.

These relief bills are a joke to so many of us. I know many people who never received the first stimulus checks- including me. We're still working; many of us way under employed and $600/ 1,200 is a lifeline, sadly, but true. However we're not getting it.

You’re right. @copiosis shows us how we can turn this around where we all can thrive.

Beautifully said, Marianne, as is often the case. Great Ted Talk by the female prime minister of Scotland who has teamed with two other PMs, also female, on a project to center economies on human well-being. Sign me up for that.
