There is something deeply cynical about this tweet; given the pandemic, these people should be receiving that $1400 every month. I don’t find the video inspiring; I find it heartbreaking.

The American Rescue Plan’s $1,400 checks will start going out as early as this weekend. Here’s how folks plan to use theirs:

$1400 for a 40-hour worker is equivalent to a month of work at $8.75. Add that to the federal minimum wage of $7.25 and you get $16/hr. Maybe we should just raise the minimum wage while we’re at it.
