There is something deeply cynical about this tweet; given the pandemic, these people should be receiving that $1400 every month. I don’t find the video inspiring; I find it heartbreaking.

Super depressing video. Our country has an economic crisis, because of a terrible former president, on top of economic inequality that already existed, and we are borrowing money to hand out to people so that they can survive. Yeay.

paying $1400 a month to every US citizen is unsustainable as a long term remedy. getting everyone back to work is much more effective and would provide more efficient data on the actual amount of supplemental incomes is needed.

And I honestly cannot stand people calling it a stimulus check. That’s what they called the payment received during the Great Recession bc it was supposed to help stimulate the economy. These are RELIEF or SURVIVAL checks. And nowhere near enough to provide either. 😢
