There is something deeply cynical about this tweet; given the pandemic, these people should be receiving that $1400 every month. I don’t find the video inspiring; I find it heartbreaking.

I agree ... this bill is just a short term fix ... and this bill is needed ... but a long term fix is needed even more ... If the right vehicles were in place ... a pandemic like this could not create this amount of ecconomic stress and hardship.

Yeah, credit card bills. These people need to learn how to manage their money! They will just go on a shopping spree and use this for useless items.

You are right Marianne. With Americans wallowing in debt resulting from this economic tragedy $ 1,400 as a one time payment isn't going to rescue much of anything. What happened to "UBI?" Like the $15/hr minimum wage isn't discussed.

yes I agree...this has only highlighted the ever widening gap between the haves and the have nots....I hope we soon embrace compassionate rationale of distribution of wealth..no-one needs to be a trillionaire it obscene.
