My wife & I are watching Unifying Man of Science @joebiden. We are both crying because Joe is so so so so empathetic. He is a model of unbridled charisma. I need to turn off because my Biden-inspired tears have temporarily blinded me. Joe is definitely not a sack of platitudes.

Yes! These capitalist drug companies sucked at getting us a vaccine quickly! Take away their profits, tear them all down and make a government agency instead!

Suspending the patents will allow other countries make their own vaccines, since the USA and others are hoarding most of it or the smaller countries can't afford to buy it. World wide vaccinations will reduce the evolution of new strains. No country is an island.

This may sound good, but, if it’s implemented which company will rush to develop the next virus vaccine when desperately needed. If you take away their incentive you will get nothing next time. Better for wealthy countries to help poor countries buy the vaccines.
