1/ There was a time when the Left didn’t have to fight for power so much within the Democratic Party; it wasn’t treated like a political stepchild the way it is now.

2/ According to @mtaibbi the establishment chooses every four years who they will promote four years hence; clearly Kamala, Pete and Amy are the Democratic chosen ones.

3/ The new book “Lucky” displays how the Democratic establishment did more to choose the candidate than to pave the way for real democracy in its primary season.

4/ Clinton, Obama and the DNC were not going to let Bernie - or any other progressive - have any power that was inconvenient to their purposes.

Is that surprising? This was well known. We don't need a book to know about this.
African Americans in S Carolina picked the Dem nominee during the primaries. Dem leaders knew that no dem could get elected without AA support. AA gave Biden the nom, not the Dem leadership
Because Democrats have to compete with Republicans and their massive Corporate War Chests for Reelection Campaigns. It costs $$ Millions to elect Members of Congress. The American People don't have that amount to donate. WE NEED CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM.

Sounds like a pretty corrupt party. If that is the case why do you support them?

It sure feels like I experienced something similar on the local level when I tried to run in 2020...

Right. So they voted Trump. Might sound crazy but that is what happened.

I honest to god believe that in Obama’s mind the purpose was winning and we would have lost if it was Bernie. I don’t think it was worth it . Maybe he had a shot in 2016. In 2020 with 75 million voting for Trump and Bernie getting even less vote in primary ? No way

Also, “Democratic voters” need to be added to this list. No one is done favors by pretending “the people” are only people who vote how you want. “the DNC” informs opinion but at the end of the day it doesn’t decide who people vote for.
