There really is no "left" in the USA. There is a conservative party and a batshit crazy conservative party. This is why Dems have trouble getting better than 50% support. The difference isn't enough for people to get excited about. Offer a real choice. Then see what happens.

Ya, but that was only a very small period in time. What is otherwise considered a fluke if measuring anything else. New deal era was the ONLY left leaning era inside the Dem party, which quickly ended. Civil rights era was NOT an era of left wing Dems, just large civil protests

I will take the criticism of the party establishment, but excuse me, the Democrats are much more inclusive and Big Tent than the GOP. I have no interest in Progressive purity tests or the likes @marwilliamson "certifying" who is progressive enough in 2024.
