HR1 does NOT “shackle” 3d parties. Indeed, public funding of congressional campaigns would help third parties. What it does it make 3p vanity campaigns for President more difficult. Is that really a bad idea?
I can’t stop 😂 at Lessig’s suggestion that the true left in this country, especially the Greens, have any power whatsoever to “convince” Democrats of anything. The Greens have every right—obligation even—to denounce a bill that attempts to shackle 3rd parties & democracy. 🤦♀️

Calling someone who doesn’t align with the corporate duopoly a “vanity candidate” is part of the problem though. Only someone whose career has been entrenched in a system that drove us into the ditch should be considered qualified to lead us out of it??
