The #DeathTax is an unfair tax that burdens family farms & ranches. Tragedy & loss shouldn’t be exploited to fill the federal government's coffers. Today, I led colleagues, including @LeaderMcConnell, @MikeCrapo, & many more, to reintro a #DeathTaxRepeal.

Oh give me a break, Senator. You seem to have no problem with a few aristocratic families being able to hoard America’s wealth, but many of us do. It goes against the entire idea what this country is supposed to stand for.

I would enthusiastically sign up for a 100% estate tax on my assets beyond $11.58 million in exchange for having $11.58 million in assets. Sad that this is remotely a priority during these times, esp. as the sliver of the affected population are the most adept at tax avoidance.

My first academic law review article, co-authored in 2000 w/ philosopher J.D. Trout when I was a first year student at @StanfordLaw, examined how most fortunes evade estate taxes, and proposed a radical reformulation to tax inheritance instead of estates. worldcat.org/title/resurrect…

America is supposed to be a capitalist country where success is celebrated, not penalized!
This country stands for robbing people of the money they earned just because they are dead?
