We should lower voting age to 17. People with small chance of even being here in 30 yrs shouldn't dominate decisions that affect those who will then be in their prime. Kids in high school are more at risk, have more at stake, and should have more power in determining the future.

Well said and one of the reasons many young people feel excluded from the political process

I was very aware at 16 what was going on in the world. I like it.

Plus some graduate high school at 17. My youngest daughter was so disappointed that as a college freshman she could not vote. She did participate in volunteer get out the vote drives though.

Teach civics, tie it to voting, create engaged voters for life.

I would go with 16, in part to raise voter turnout, since high-school students would have a couple of years to form the habit of participating in the election before they disperse into the world.

We should raise it to 21. People with a small chance of being here in 30 years are using their wisdom to steer things where they should be vs where a bunch of teenagers want them to be.

Even with a small chance of being here in 30 years have more life experience, more understanding of the world, and more perspective. If young people were more likely to vote against your political interests you would never support this.
