We should lower voting age to 17. People with small chance of even being here in 30 yrs shouldn't dominate decisions that affect those who will then be in their prime. Kids in high school are more at risk, have more at stake, and should have more power in determining the future.

The frontal lobes, home to key components of the neural circuitry underlying “executive functions” such as planning, working memory, and impulse control, are among the last areas of the brain to mature; they may not be fully developed until halfway through the third decade of life

Lol, no. For 10 different reasons.. no. Hell, It should probably be bumped to 30.. You know why? Because most of our voting is based on hardline political affiliation and a media popularity contest, to begin with.. The whole thing feels pointless. It always feels like a scam.

Especially if they work and pay taxes. They should have a say in who represents them. No Taxation Without Representation. Sounds Familiar.

Voting age should be lowered to whatever age citizens start working and paying taxes. If you get a job at 15 yo you should have a say in the society that shapes your working conditions.

I wasn't even ready to cast a responsible vote when I was 18 years old although I'm proud of the vote I cast that year. I was still very affected by my upbringing and by pressure in my family of origin. 17 year olds are not adults, period.

No taxation without representation. Lower it to 16 since it's when people can start working and have taxes taken out of their paycheck. 16 year olds should have a say in how their taxes are spent.

It should be raised to 20. Kids in high-school had to be told not to eat tide pods and like ice cream in the grocery store.

Ok. Then a 17 year old should be able to smoke, drink, have sex, get married, gamble, serve in the military, live on their own, etc. If they not mature enough for the above they're not mature enough to vote and make decisions for the country.

They are actually more informed then many older adults.

Ayanna Pressley already is pushing 16. Just join her. If you can get a license to operate a murder weapon, a car, you can certainly voice your opinion about policies that affect you
