We should lower voting age to 17. People with small chance of even being here in 30 yrs shouldn't dominate decisions that affect those who will then be in their prime. Kids in high school are more at risk, have more at stake, and should have more power in determining the future.

If you're old enough to enlist in the military then you should be able to vote

Potential problem one could encounter with your idea @marwilliamson is that the influence of teachers, and peer pressure could potentially distort a 17yr old voting mind. Whilst in theory, it’s an interesting thought. The cons could outweigh the pros #maybe #notworththeexperiment

Unless the rigged voting machines are eliminated (computerized vote fraud has been with us since the 1980s), honest elections will never happen. Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, Ron Wyden and other Democrats complained in 2019 Republicans used the Dominion machines against them.

I was going to comment about “an informed electorate” given their young age and all, but then laughed out loud at myself thinking of the rest of the voting population.

17 is reasonable since the majority of the youth are in their final year in High school. 17 is the age major decisions concerning the future of the individual are made. Most errors in the life of the individual are made from that age.

Makes sense to me. Also, we should allow felons who were arrested for marajuana usage or sales the right to vote.

But they’re also dumb as stumps at that age!

Uh I don’t think that’s a very good idea.

I agree. But can we somehow reinstate civics classes, without partisanship or cynicism?
