We should lower voting age to 17. People with small chance of even being here in 30 yrs shouldn't dominate decisions that affect those who will then be in their prime. Kids in high school are more at risk, have more at stake, and should have more power in determining the future.

Disagree. Studies show teenage brain is not fully developed yet. They make more impulsive decisions and don't have the life experiences to help them make thought-out and informed decisions. Many will follow their social group. Don't want them drinking at 17 for same reasons.

Lower it to 16. They work. Not letting them vote is taxation without representation. That is unconstitutional. Hello!

I say let fetuses vote, too.

We should focus on getting a better percentage of 18-21 year olds to even vote

Why 17? Why not 13 or 10? Why do young people have to be 18 to join the military or 21 to drink? There should be a better way to determine age of consent.

18-year-olds are old enough to go to college and live on their own. They're legally an adult. Younger kids at home are more prone to parental pressure. In some cases, politically zealous parents may indoctrinate their child to choose a certain candidate or vote along party lines.
