We should lower voting age to 17. People with small chance of even being here in 30 yrs shouldn't dominate decisions that affect those who will then be in their prime. Kids in high school are more at risk, have more at stake, and should have more power in determining the future.

No, 17 year olds are children.

They're raising the age for everything else.

Where in the hell are they going at 30 years of age?

And maybe put an upper limit on voters too - say three score and ten?

I think you've allowed yourself to become mentally and emotionally affected by the attention you're getting from young people. Many of them are intellectually sophisticated but not all. And plenty more are still under powerful influence from their parents...

Well just lower it to 13 and thanks for wishing me an early demise.

13 or puberty, whichever comes first.

It would be nice but those in power wouldn鈥檛 want to open up a voting block they aren鈥檛 sure they can control.There鈥檚 a lot of young people who favor progressive policies. The right & left don鈥檛 want no part of that. They want to hold them off as long as possible.

Lower it to 0. Every citizen should have a vote, period. Parents of small children, who are the most concerned about the future, get extra votes until the kids are ready, and then they decide when that is, not the government.
