Is there anything a simple majority of people shouldn't be able to do to a minority?

Fact: Southern Dems held up 1964 Civil Rights Act, setting filibuster record at 60 days. The filibuster has been historically used, by dems and Republicans, to veto Civil Rights Bills. #filibuster is a Jim Crow relic, used primarily for racial motives, and very little else.

the democracy has survived for nearly 250 years with the filibuster and will continue to survive with it intact. and why the sudden interest in abolishing it? never heard this from the Dems when the GOP controlled both houses.

I mean I'm in favor of this but what would it amount to when you have the"f**k the poor caucus" here?

More specifically, the filibuster will kill HR 1, which will endanger democracy.

So when Republicans take back the house and senate, killing the filibuster will still be a good idea? Because if you kill the filibuster, that 100% will happen.
