Building consensus and negotiating are dying political skills, but necessary for our democratic republic. The filibuster ensures that 51% can’t cram down decisions on the 49%.
Really the dumbest thing I've seen in months. The filibuster protects minority rights. It also tries to prevent the federal gov't from overlegislating, i.e., guaranteeing Americans greater liberty. Better to kill the idea that every problem should be fixed by gov't action.
