Much to my dismay, I had to delete a picture of a starling. Someone told me it was mean and when I looked it up I saw this verified, so I couldn’t bear to put anything mean on my thread. I will be back momentarily with the sweetest most beautiful bird I can find.

This beautiful bird lives cage-free in our small neighborhood. #LifeInaThaiForest

Purple finches are lovely, (and actually not really purple... more of a raspberry).

Not mean. There is no malice in it. It is simply their way. Natural competition for nesting sites. Much of what we perceive about animals is projection of our own human nature.

Hummingbirds are mean to each other too. I love them anyway. And starlings may be mean, but oh! the murmurations. ❤

This, apparently, is a murmuration of starlings in Ireland.

these are my birbs.. they may not be the most exciting or brightly colored but they are the sweetest and most beautiful chickens to exist. george (left) likes to cuddle and trill like a cat purring and sophie (right) .. well just look at her gentle face.

Are they invasive pests? Yes. Are they intelligent pets? Also yes.
