Manchin and Sinema say "No" and the whole party bows to them; progressives keep saying "Yes" so the party doesn't bow to them ever. Can anyone explain this to me?

It's very simple. You get no respect by submission. You only demonstrate the Party doesn't have to care about you. When you play the game, you are giving up your actual power. You'll get exactly what they decide you ought to get, and nothing more. If you stand up against them ...

I've been trying to understand this myself. It always comes back to this, Democrats are notorious for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory when all is said and done. Progressives will continue to get stepped on b/c the Party believes they will always be a, "yes".

Yes, it means that progressives should let go of the illusion that 'reforming the Dems' is a strategy -- and instead support a change to enacting legislative elections by proportional representation, so there can be an electorally viable independent progressive party #prorep #rcv

Easy peasy. They all lean right because they love their donor money and status quo. Manchin isn’t a stretch for them, it’s their default. Progressive ideas make them uncomfortable hence they call them out and leak stories of anger at their speaking out for human dignity etc

This is because politicians like @BarackObama & Biden sabotage real progressives like Bernie and now Obama is interfering in @ninaturner campaign so another progressive hits the dust! He (Obama) is owned by the corporations just like his boy Biden #ObamaSabotagedBernie #VoteNina

They have no spine. Afraid to rock the boat, afraid to do anything to harm their careers, afraid to take a chance. Manchin understands the power of No, but Bernie and the squad act out of fear. youtube.com/watch?v=FqRNnIMD…

Biden signaled the Un-Elected Parliamentarian who has "no" power up front that he didn't want $15/hr. The Squad or any 6 Progressives could have held up the bill until $15/hr was put back in. David Sirota details the Democrats treachery. youtube.com/wSPFHLQsujE

it's the "rotation villain" technique which happened again as Glenn Greenwald said. 7 second-row members to be vilified by the public is part of the dirty work for the party status quo
