Replying to @RBReich
The problem is how many people in fact do not see the problem with this. Too many apparently do not see that those numbers are a direct reflection of economic policies rigged in a way that were sure to create more billionaires as well as more poor.

The entire billionaire class sees poor people as easier to control. We are just a resource to them.

This is the American dream.
it's important to track what % of the Senate are millionaires over those years. It might be 100%. & out of touch w wage earners in the US. Raising the wage floor incrementally to follow our boom and bust inflation is the only way to keep millions out of poverty w current system
Poverty is a policy choice.... The system was rigged long ago, the only thing necessary to continue on this destructive course is obstruction But, they are far too greedy for that

You mention both fact and value, but I suspect it's more the latter. My impression is many people fully understand the role our economic policies play in furthering income and wealth inequality, they just think that's a good, proper, ethically justified result.
It's wage theft plain and simple. It's creating billionaires by stealing from the poor. And btw Reich oversaw all of this from the beginning. He worked in the WH under Ds and Rs for many yrs. He was on boards under Obama.

During the 1950's American oligarchs looked at banana republics and decided that it was a good model for this country. A robust middle class demands education, healthcare and a share of the wealth. They refuse to go to war for corporate gain. They had to be eliminated.

The problem is people making poor life choices...and end up poor. Not my problem.
Are you saying more people becoming billionaires is a bad thing ?
Do you really think that small businesses that are minority owned can survive this?
