Of the eight Democrats who voted against the $15 an hour minimum wage amendment, I don’t think the woman with little money who dressed and acted foolishly is nearly as chilling a phenomenon as the multi- millionaires in business suits who did so smoothly, calmly & no drama at all

Since all votes have the same weight, all the votes are chilling

This deep decline in humanity is the same whether in a skirt or a suit. Following Congress this past year has been like watching MTV's 500th season of "The Real World," but filmed at a daycare sent for the rich.

It felt like class betrayal I think that's why people have responded that way.

I think it was her utter unserious flippancy that just touched a raw already jangling nerve in those of us who love people this harmed. To see her so smugly openly happy about it and patting McConnell was galling. But of course what you say is so - we just expect that from $$men

I would say unnecessary levity and her past positions of questioning capitalism and supporting a higher minimum wage made it extra disgusting.

I see it the opposite. We expect the guys in the suits to callously ignore us. We don't expect someone in our own class to sell us out and do so gleefully.

I agree. Yet somehow the flourish pisses me off. I do not think well of myself, but neither do I think well of her.
