Why are people surprised Bernie didn’t have the votes? I saw somebody say this is what Bernie’s Presidency would have been like. Its what his entire career has been. Lots of talk, but not the work building the coalitions you need for legislative success.

Replying to @marcushjohnson
Bernie Sanders has done more to coalesce progressive sensibility in this country then anyone in decades, often in the face of insidious and insulting resistance from those who have half his character.

You know why I could never vote for you for President? You are too easily conned.
He's right though when he says Bernie would've been ineffective @marwilliamson Manchin, Sinema, etc would have MORE incentive to defy a "socialist" POTUS than Biden. It's all about brandishing their "moderate bonafides" Bernie has done alot of good things but his point stands
So what you're saying is that he's a figurehead for those who have authoritarian bents on the left. Yes, I would hope most of us resisting him don't even have half the misogyny, racism and authoritarian traits he keeps displaying. It's sad people thought you'd be a good POTUS.

"Sensibility" isn't "achievement". He's been a senator for a bazillion years. He doesn't build coalitions and he doesn't move much legislation.

Go look into some crystals. He’s divisive.

No. Just no. He wants to be a damn hero. Democrats want that to be Separate bill.
