Yet the system will not allow for a $15/hr min wage. Such extreme disparity doesn’t occur because people listed below work harder than everyone else; it occurs because of policies that routinely enable the already rich to get richer, and make it harder for others to even survive.
"$15 an hour is too much" What billionaires have made in the pandemic Musk: $19.5 million an hour Bezos: $9.4M/hour Zuckerberg: $5.1M/hour Waltons: $5M/hour Page & Brin: $4.9M/hour each Ballmer: $3.4M/hour Ellison: $3.3M/hour Gates: $3.2M/hour Buffett: $3M/hour Knight $2.9M/hour

the most frustrating thing is money is a construct. it's a symbol we made up to represent time and effort and resources, and it can be whatever we want it to be--but we have this entire political bureaucracy in place designed to manage and worship the simulacrum.

How can a small business with 4 employees and nets 100k a year, pay $15hr? The companies run by the people on your list, go for it. But one size doesn’t fit all.

I am a capitalist. But not a capital fundamentlist. When will the penny drop that unbridled capitalism concentrates wealth into fewer and fewer hands by design so doesnt work for the many without an effective redistribution mechanism. Why defend that system?

Yes Marianne but I would not ever hope to reach that height of Elon Musk. He is an exception. I would not expect equity with Musk. He is a phenomenon.

At 15. an hour big box stores can go to only part time workers and avoid paying any benefits.

In one hour ... many of these people earn more than most can earn in a lifetime ... does that really make any sense?

Hard work isn't what people get paid for, they get paid for the value returned to the payer. The real minimum wage is $0, which is what many will end up getting when their employer lays them off or doesn't hire for a position. Some people would get a raise, some will have no job.

I understand why your focused on this. Right now we're desperate & furious that 2000 turned into 1400 and still hasn't arrived. They were all upset about April rent. check came to me in May. 600 since then, many months of rent since then.

Lady, it's been this way since the dawning of time and I know your aware. Yes it has change, but the only way for that to happen is to vote out "all" of the out dated politicians and vote in a entirely new set of fresh mind's that will be the voice of the American people!!

Not to mention the self-indulgence of politicians that has nothing to do with the well-being of their constituents
