What if we made the bottom line of all public policy the elimination of suffering and the uplift of the human spirit? What exactly are we supposed to think would fall apart?

What if you weren’t part of a corporate-owned, warmongering party? What exactly are we supposed to think would fall apart?

Marianne, you are so very sweet, so loving and caring. I, too, hope one day the "leaders" among us will make this their goal as well. In the meantime, I can keep insuring that my own "personal policy," is to first, eliminate suffering from my own life (mainly my choice).

Acknowledging human suffering would be a start. Public policy remains a guessing game for elitists based on statistical data not lived experiences. "If you don't live it, you don't give it" seems to be the guiding principle.

Human Consciousness is too low to comprehend that. 😢
We must bomb our way towards uplift.

Unless you have a plan to reduce the influence of big money and corporate media the only things that will be pursued will be GDP and shareholder value. Change is not possible in this lesser of two evils environment. We need voting reform. Approval Voting, STAR Voting or RCV.

To do this we’d have to elect the kind of people who would probably not run for office because they are already too busy doing these things.

Throwing money at the issue doesn't solve it. 22 trillion has been spent on the war on poverty, and how did that turn out?

Can't possibly eliminate the suffering of 350 million or uplift all spirits. The government can only try to give equal opportunity to all to pursue happiness. It's up to the individual to take that opportunity and run with it
