What if we made the bottom line of all public policy the elimination of suffering and the uplift of the human spirit? What exactly are we supposed to think would fall apart?

People should not be inhibited in there pursuit of happiness but it’s not governments role to provide it. Everyone complains about Big Pharma, Big Tech, Big Oil etc. but none of these would exist without Big Government.
