What if we made the bottom line of all public policy the elimination of suffering and the uplift of the human spirit? What exactly are we supposed to think would fall apart?

That's the irony. I think there would be so much profit for so many, because the creativity and productivity released would be gargantuan.

We disagree a great deal about what the human spirit is, whether it exists, and what would raise it up, so it might not be a good policy principle in a diverse and pluralistic society. Reducing suffering, on the other hand, is a helpful principle.

Because the evil people who masquerade as helpful will take over the effort and enrich themselves. Just as it has always been.

I think they are more afraid of us falling together, in strength. Ignorance of what is truly possible & who is really in control. Too many followers, not enough good leaders leading themselves forward. Don’t wait on others to give you the path forward, we are all on it. #LoveWins
