The authoritarians that want less government at home and less wars abroad. Makes total sense.
There’s a war on democracy underway; a wave of right wing authoritarianism is rising up all over the world. In the US we’re way past the “It couldn’t happen here” phase. It’s happening. In the words of Abe Lincoln, “We shall nobly save or meanly lose the last best hope of earth.”

I didn’t say conservatism. What you described are high minded conservative principles and I respect that. Right wing militia groups are not conservative though; they are authoritarian anarchists.

We all have our boogeymen. The issue I have is that you act like this is a widespread issue on the right. It isn't.

I recognize that there are responsible Republicans, genuinely high-minded conservatives, who are as appalled as I am by what has happened to the Republican party. On the other hand, a high percentage of Republicans still support Donald Trump.

There are a myriad of reasons why 75+M voted for Trump. Most of them being conservative values. The lack of ability to see why Trump was not only acceptable, but beloved shows how little most people on the left get the right.

It seems like the most reasonable explanation I am hearing from you is to vilify those who supported Trump. The question is whether or not empathy, understanding, and love will have a seat at your table, or a continuous push of fearing those you don't understand.

Conversely, a high percentage of Democrats still support Joe Biden. This is just as troubling to me. But the media will talk about how Biden puts a log on the fire or plays video games rather than address the fact he also puts kids in cages & bombs countries unconstitutionally.
