There’s a war on democracy underway; a wave of right wing authoritarianism is rising up all over the world. In the US we’re way past the “It couldn’t happen here” phase. It’s happening. In the words of Abe Lincoln, “We shall nobly save or meanly lose the last best hope of earth.”

Lock downs, book banning, compelled speech, cancel culture, I would never have dreamt that these could come here.

Not just right-wingers blocking M4A or debt cancellation or $15. The centrists are even less interested in democracy and a fair portion of the left is happy to support imperialism abroad and censorship at home. Doesn't help if we pretend it is only the right-wingers.

Umm FYI, authoritarianism is rising up but it's not from the right. Just sayin.

I’m sorry but the right aren’t cancelling Dr. Seuss for made-up perceived racism and insisting Amazon do some virtual book burning over unsettled science topics. **It IS happening here and it’s not coming from the right. **

Actually, there's a real war going on. And the U.S. is the one committing the war crimes.

We've always been governed by right wing authoritarians. Even now when Democrats control the government
