It's not "tragic"; that would imply that it's an unfortunate occurrence. They intentionally lied to vulnerable people to get them to vote for the "lesser evil"--which as it turns out is still horrifically evil.

I don’t understand the desire to include a universal wage boost like this in a relief bill. If your wage goes up but causes operating revenue to rise too and the business closes ultimately, what was the point?
