The tragedy is not having 50 Democratic votes to push this through. We need more Senate Democrats in 2022. Right now we have 48 plus or minus 2 that can’t make up their minds what party they are in.

A $15 minimum was needed 5-10 years ago. It's already too little too late. Progressive Dems should push for a clean standalone bill that raises the minimum wage BEYOND that now, and establishes regular, periodic, automatic increases in it, pegged to the CPI or some other index.

I am not giving up yet. If they do a separate bill it puts the GOP on the hook for voting NO. We are only 30+ days in. I am thinking Bernie has a plan for this.

I can’t imagine the consequences of this: further inequality & suffering already heightened in the pandemic.

What is tragic is people sabotaging the COVID Relief Bill to grand stand over minimum wage instead of doing their jobs and writing the legislation to increase minimum wage.

Millions of naive people such as yourself.

*1.6 million, less than 2% of the country's workforce, are paid minimum wage (or less). Almost nobody makes minimum wage these days. Why is there so much talk and debate about it?

It’s tragic but not surprising.
