If the US gov’t wanted to eradicate poverty, it could do so much to eradicate poverty. If it wanted to eradicate hunger, it could do so much to eradicate hunger. If it wanted to eradicate illiteracy, it could do so much to eradicate illiteracy. The lesson here? It really doesn’t.

You know who has taken their country from 80% peasantry to a moderately successful industrial nation? China, and they used socialism with Chinese characteristics. They have also eliminated extreme poverty, which I assume would mean that everyone has a home and food. ☭
