In 1980 Reagan won the EC vote over Jimmy Carter 489-49. He got re-elected in 1984 with an EC vote of 525-13. This glorification of the 1970s is a complete joke. Carter was the incumbent in 1980 and he won 6 of the 50 states. That’s a sign things were actually not so good

The gender wage gap was also 40% in 1970, the average woman made half of what they make today adjusted for inflation. Your “average” is based on the average white male having more, now with diversity, there is slightly less for everyone, but more seats at table, which is good.
